I Will Praise You In This Storm

The waves they just seem to keep coming, relentlessy,
Again and again.
Lord, will you calm the storm?
You have calmed the storms so many times in my life
So why do I find myself questioning if you will do it again.
This time it's different though.
But is it really?
You are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Lord, calm me.

Reading your post today Mr. Dyck reminds me of that song by Ray Boltz, The Anchor Holds, I thought it appropriate to post the lyrics for you, its an awsome song, I have heard Brad Rackozy sing it a few times and it brings things into perspective.

THE ANCHOR HOLDS
By Ray Boltz

I have journeyed
Through the long dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I’ve had visions
I’ve had dreams
I’ve even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that’s where God proved
His love to me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

Hey Kevin,
Just a word of encouragement through a storm.
This is where transformation of the mind takes place.
I sometimes refer to it as being in the fish (haha) like Jonah.
God patiently holds us through the storm until we get to that point of clarity on just our futile our stubborn refusals are.

So welcome the storms, praise Him for the storms and through the storms and after the storms.
During the storms we are refined like gold, smoothed like diamonds, softened, strengthened and matured.

Casting Crowns
Praise You in the Storm

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”
and it’s still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

Chorus:
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

PRAISING HIM in the storm also defeats the schemes of the enemy.
PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE!!
